This is the ultimate blood pressure lowering herbal concoction. It is a safe, natural and effective way to reduce systolic blood pressure by 10 mm Hg! If you do not suffer from extremely high blood pressure, or your doctor has only recently told you that you suffer from high blood pressure, you have found the right recipe!
Make a large batch and store in the fridge to use daily for optimal blood pressure lowering effects. Enjoy concentration to taste but expect to drink about 3- 8 oz glasses a day for blood pressure lowering benefits.
Pro tip
It would be a great idea to add beet juice to this recipe as it induces nitric oxide formation which dilates blood vessels. Both together can help significantly reduce blood pressure.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup dried hibiscus flowers (I purchased mine here)
- 1 Cassia or Ceylon cinnamon stick
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and chopped thick
- 1-2 teaspoons honey (optional)
- 1/4 cup Beet Juice (optional)
Instructions
- Bring 1.5 cups of water to a boil.
- Add cinnamon stick to the pot and cover and let simmer while you prepare the ingredients for 5 minutes.
- Add the rest of the ingredients. Turn off heat and cover.
- After 20 minutes, taste concentration, the more concentrated it is, the better it will keep in the fridge. You can store it in the fridge and add your beet juice to it as needed or add water to reduce the concentrated liquid down and enjoy. You can continue to add more water during the week until the flavors and color reduce. Note you can use a cinnamon stick many times.
This may be more concentrated than you prefer, the more concentrated or the more hibiscus flower used, as well as the frequency drank throughout the day will impact your blood pressure more effectively. (But not to the point of reducing it to dangerous levels, it does not function like a conventional drug)
